Steve Brown

Steve joined the Des Moines Fire Department in October 1987. He has been a Member of the Haz Mat Team and assigned to Station 1 for approximately 18 years.  Over the years he has held the positions of  Firefighter, Engineer, Lieutenant and is currently serving as a Captain in the Fire Prevention Bureau.  

Steve is married with 2 children.  Nathan, age 12 is active in sports and Emma, age 6 loves to dance. In his spare time, Steve enjoys remodeling and is an avid "handyman."

Steve just began working with the LAFS program in the fall, 2008.
